Childcare Education
The Goals of Our Creative Curriculum
The most important goal of early childhood curriculum is to help children become enthusiastic learners. Our goal is to help children become independent, self confident, inquisitive listeners. We are allowing them to learn at their own pace and in ways that are best for them. We are giving them good habits, particularly a positive sense of themselves, which will make a difference in their lives.
Essential Childcare Creative Curriculum allows all areas of development.
Social- Helping children feel comfortable, make new friends and be part of a group.
Emotional- Have children experience pride and self confidence, have a positive attitude towards life.
Cognitive- Being confident learners by letting them try their own ideas, learning skills such as solving problems, and use words to describe their ideas and feelings.
Physical- Being confident in what their bodies can do by increasing their large and small muscle skills.
The Creative Curriculum shows teachers how to integrate learning in literacy, math, science, social studies, the arts, and technology throughout the day. It also gives the teacher a wide range of teaching strategies-- from child-initiated learning to teacher-directed approaches--to best respond to children's learning styles, strengths, and interests.
The curriculum is built around the environment using eleven different interest areas or centers:
*Blocks *Table Toys
*House Corner *Art
*Sand & Water * Library
*Music & Movement *Cooking
*Computers *Outdoors
*Discovery
